About K & K

Our goal is to prevent environmental damage caused by electronic waste going into landfills. We are helping our community and leading the way in the E Waste recycling movement locally. This is a home grown- minority owned, LGBTQ friendly business. We have been blessed with great customers over the past 2 years and are continuing to grow. We will be moving to a new location over the next year to expand our business further. In the meantime we are still arranging pickups and are happy that so many are spreading the word! We have a van for small pick ups and a trailer for larger needs. Give us a call to arrange a time that is convenient for you.

About Electronic Recycling

Electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, monitors, printers, electronic games, televisions, tablets, telecom equipment, faxes and more are a part of daily life. The convenience is relatively new, the need to responsibly recycle and dispose of these items grows each day. As items become obsolete and we upgrade to the flat screen TV, the latest iPhone and a new printer (because the ink is more expensive than a new printer...) we are faced with what to do with the old. Throwing them into the trash will lead to them ending up in a landfill. They will release toxins into the soil and water supply. The components of electronics take from 100 to 1000 years to break down in nature.

Recycling these items offers a safe and responsible alternative to disposal and extends the life of these products. Parts and materials are recovered from these are melted, shredded and redesigned to help the next generation of electronics. Recycling not only keeps these materials out of the landfills, it decreases the energy needed to obtain the plastic, glass and metals used on new items. Using recycled materials takes 80% less energy than mining for or creating new materials.

Electronics can contain lead, cadmium, beryllium or brominated flame retardants. Processing electronic waste inappropriately can lead to detrimental health effects and environmental pollution. The solution to this problem is to properly recycle the E Waste we create. K & K Fixit breaks down discarded electrical and electronic devices to properly dispose of the toxic materials, repurpose the metals and plastics and safely dispose of any byproducts remaining.

You can become part of the solution by scheduling a pick up for your unwanted electronics or by arranging for a community pick up near you.
